WAC:
"Immersing into a garden"
The workshop aimed to work within the surroundings of MACBA, a contemporary art museum located in the center and heart of the historic city. It involved a reflection on how to interact and engage with its physical, neighborhood, and social environment
it proposed understanding the tensions and demands of the location, exploring the possibility of designing reconfigurable and mobile urbanizations and occupations that enable various uses of public spaces over time.

The project is based on the reuse of a box that transported various art pieces from the MACBA. The concept of this project draws from the analogy of a clown's box, where winding it up allows the clown to emerge. Similarly, it creates a movable garden that unfolds from its interior, with the ability to be stored and transported across the city of Barcelona.
The project was crafted using recycled materials from the waste containers of art at the MACBA. Fabrics, cardboard tubes, foam protecting the paintings, PVC pipes, cardboard boxes, and natural elements were repurposed in the creation process.

The workshop featured prominent speakers and architects, including Santiago Cirugeda, Josep Bohigas, Curro Claret, Omar Avellaneda (SMIA), and more..

AXONOMETRY

The idea of the project was to start with a blank canvas, allowing the neighbors and children of the Raval neighborhood in Barcelona to create their own work of art that belongs to the Raval. This approach enables them to express themselves freely and relive their childhood.
